We had such a busy morning in Room 4. Jacob's rats visited us and then Adam came in to talk to us about Sugary Drinks.
My Rats Today I brought my rats to school. It was fun. I explained about the rats. I told the kids not to pull the rat's tails or squeeze the rats. I hope the kids like seeing them. Maybe next time I can bring ice cream or chocolate for the rats to eat. By Jacob Jacob's Rats Today Jacob's rats, Spot and Chocolate came in to our class room. I held Spot. We sketched the rats. First I sketched Spot then I sketched Chocolate. Jacob told us they love to eat little cat biscuits and peanuts. THANK YOU Jacob for bringing your rats in to show us. We loved talking about them, cuddling them, then sketching and writing about them. Room 4 is learning to count backwards to solve subtraction (take away) problems and also to count in tens to add numbers together. First we practise using equipment so that we understand the idea, then we try some problems either by ourselves or with a friend. Notice how we help each other and share what we are doing...
Room 4 is making some amazing paper puppets using paper folding and collage in a very creative way. Normal writing and reading was happening at the same time and of course the clean-up afterwards was important. We hope you enjoy looking at our paper puppets and a snippet of our day.
